Abstract Fire resistance is one of the essential requirements to be fulfilled in design timber structures. For this purpose, a reduced cross-section method given European standards, Eurocodes. The based on assumption that an initial, rectangular exposed fire conditions reduces effective cross-section, which has material properties as at room temperature. part with no determined by sum two parameters, namely charring depth and thickness zero-strength layer.
